Festival of Swallows

Hello Reader

This months' news includes a new print, a maker takeover at Delamore Arts and a possible workshop on the horizon.

Festival of Swallows

Whilst walking up to Chinkwell Tor in April I made a few sketches. One of them was of this extraordinary cloud that began to shapeshift as I drew so I had to get it down fast.

It's always useful to take some photos too.

Further up I saw the first swallows on the moor, the fox was seen on another day.

I began this lino print with less carving around the birds and then added the hatched lines because I felt it needed something, more energy and light.

I have only 2 prints available with less lines 'Festival of Swallows' (as shown below) from a tiny edition of 3!

I have 4 prints available of the print shown at the top 'Festival of Swallows (2)' from an edition of 30.

All are a little different in cloud colour and ink smudging (a technique I used to apply the different colours) making all prints unique.

These are all £45 each about A3 size, printed on vegan recycled UK paper .

Meet the Maker Takeover

I'll be showing and selling my work at Delamore Arts on the last day of this wonderful art and sculpture event on Sunday 31st May.

The last time I exhibited work here was back in 2013 with my ash tree sculpture.

This time my work is only there for one day and I'll be with my sister, watercolour artist Christine Pascoe, who will also be selling her work.

Do come and say hello!

Workshop anyone?

I've been thinking about this for a while and I know some of you signed up to the newsletter for the possibility of workshops.

The idea is to run a 2 or maybe 3 day (possibly residential) workshop on Dartmoor, (venue tba) . We would walk, sketch and then make lino prints. I'm also thinking of including a storyteller, I have a few people in mind but if you are reading this and you are a professional storyteller then please do get in touch!

If you are interested in coming along as a paying participant or a first aider (big reduction in fees for you) just reply to this email and let me know.

It's all in the air at the moment, but I would be nice to see if there is any interest.

Stockists

Apart from my website and various maker markets you can find my work at

Artisan Gallery, Chagford

The Folk Preservation Society, Teignmouth

That be all me lovelies!

Enjoy the sun but keep hydrated!

The Dreaming Lark Hello Reader This months' news includes a glimpse of my new press, my freeing body press techniques on Dartmoor and upcoming markets and exhibitions. Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Honiton Last week I visited the Devon Open Studios exhibition at Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton. I was really pleased with the way they had hung my work and this was the first time I have seen how good 'art glass' looks on my work. It has less reflection which makes a big difference and the prints...

The Calling

Hello Reader This months' news includes: • A new print with its story and connections to augury and the cycles of life and death. • A new outlet for my work. • Exciting exhibition news. The Calling I made this print to illustrate the cacophony of corvids I heard at the bottom of my dad’s garden. Two new jays had come to the woods, and the resident magpies weren’t happy. Then the crows and jackdaws flew over to see what was going on. The noise of them calling, screaming and bickering was quite...
